The welding improves!

The box section at the rear of the frame now has far less tin worm in it and more form to it than it did!

Before the bottom of the chassis rail.

After the bottom has been welded in.

A good day was had by us! I manag
ed to get the box section on the rear end finished. The next step is to prime the metal, but also to ensure the edges are filled properly, and then the fish plates and rear crossmember are to be assembled on to the frame, prior to the rear spring hangers being rivetted (or bolted) and welded on to the rear!

The other side!

Whilst I was busy welding and grinding, T was investigating the state of the fenders - pretty awful as it turned out. He spent ages chipping off filler, and we now have a decision to make - patch what we've got or find new ones!
Hey ho, we'll make a decision somehow......

Meanwhile Nick Jeffries came up trumps with the spring hangers (or perches as they seem to be called) and the seals and caps for the suspension U bolts, so that is one less problem!
